Rice-based dishes for healthier eating choices

If you want to eat healthier and want your child to do the same, rice-based dishes are always a good option. Of course, it depends a lot on what you have next to rice, but rice all by itself is already a good start. In the end of July Uncle Ben’s launched Ben’s Beginners Cooking Contest which invited families to submit their videos about their child cooking rice-based dishes, and do that for the chance of winning the grand prize of $15 000 in cash and $30 000 makeover for their child’s school cafeteria. Plus also an appearance on the Rachael Ray Show.

Now Uncle Ben’s has chosen the three finalist families, out of the roughly 1000 submissions, and these families are awaiting for your votes! You can vote for your favorite family or video at unclebvens.com.

While the grand prize is a grand prize, also the two runner ups will get a nice prize – specifically $5000 in cash and a $10 000 school cafeteria makeover for their child’s school.

“Our finalists and their families truly represent the purpose of the Ben’s Beginners™ Cooking Contest. By cooking together in the kitchen they built better relationships with food and with each other,” said Tim Snyder from Mars Food US, the makers of the UNCLE BEN’S® Brand.

The competition was launched by Uncle Ben’s to help children make healthier eating choices at as early age as possible.
